safeguarding

At GBC we take safeguarding seriously. We want GBC to be a safe place for everyone.
We endeavour to make sure that people feel able to disclose situations they are concerned about, and that these concerns are dealt with appropriately and in a timely fashion.

The Law
Safeguarding means protecting an adult or a child’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. This right has been defined in law including "The Children Act 1989", "The Children Act 2004", "Working Together To Safeguard Children : Statutory Guidance 9updated 2023)", and "The Care Act 2014".

Our Christian Responsibility
We believe that upholding the law and protecting the vulnerable is part of our Christian life, as demonstrated in many places in scripture and through the actions of Jesus and the disciples etc.

Deuteronomy 10:18  “He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.”

Psalm 82:3-4 “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

If you have any concerns, please report them to one of our safeguarding team below (photos to be uploaded in due course):
