We believe the church has a purpose which God the Father has demonstrated through His Son Jesus.
When Jesus summed up the core of God's revealed will, He said we are to love God and love our neighbour (Mark 12:28-31; Deuteronomy 6:4). He also gave a commission to the church (Matthew 28:18-20) to go and make disciples, to baptise and to teach.
We are committed to this Great Commandment and Great Commission as the purpose and driving motivation for all that this church does.
Our Mission
To Glorify God in all that we say and do. To Build the Body by mutual support and encouragement. To Challenge our Culture by daring to be different.
Values
We believe that:
- Every individual is precious to God, and should therefore be precious to us.
- Loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church life.
- God's word is the catalyst for the transformation of people's lives and the life of the church through preaching, teaching, and personal study.
- Christ's followers should lead authentic Christian lives and yearn for continual growth, both personally, and for the corporate life of the church.
- The church should operate as a unified community of servants using their spiritual gifts to benefit and build up the body of believers.
- The whole range of spiritual gifts are to be sought, valued and used, both in the corporate life of the church, and in the personal pursuit of growth and maturity.
- Excellence honours God and inspires people; therefore every task should be done to the best of our ability.
- Full devotion to Christ and His cause is normal for every believer.
- The church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure.
- Regular worship, personal and corporate, is the necessary response of every follower of Christ.
- Dependence on the Holy Spirit is normal for all aspects of worship.
